Franklin County Guardian ad Litem Reviews 2026 - Columbus, Ohio

Official Franklin County, 2026 Guardian Ad Litem (GAL/JAL) list: HERE

Finding the right GAL is one of the most important choices in a contentions divorce. Once appointed, transparency and accountability are non-existent for these court-appointed attornies. In our overburdened courts, Judges often will simply default to a GAL's opinion, while these GALs enjoy full immunity. This has created an unaccountability loophole the courts love to abuse with no checks or balances. Like many, if you or your family has been mistreadted by a court-appointed GAL your only recourse is to file a grievance with the Ohio Supreme Court and the Ohio State Bar, consider a Legal Malpractice claim or an Abuse of Process suit.

Only getting one star because I have to click one to get a review. Basically the report that he turned in was a lie. He had never observed the kids and their mother interaction at their residence ever. He was supposed to come to our residence as well and never did. He said the kids wanted to live with their dad. That statement came from the very beginning where their father who had brainwashed them and showered them with new electronic gifts. Ie. Laptops note pads cell phones. So the report from the very get go was the only thing ever considered. No one was Interviewed no one was able to give any testimony. No one was ever able to present any evidence of the interaction between parent and children. And what kind of lawyer doesn't carry a business card? I mean, really you deal with children's lives and dont have a business card??? Real professional... I am forwarding MY report of this debacle to the States Attorney general's office ,and the Ohio Bar Association of which a formal complaint will be made

He does not make any effort at all to get to know you as a person or witness you around your kids. He will not call your references either. None of them. It is more political and aims towards the mothers side. This is true specially if you went to Iraq. He is not a fan of the military. He will convince the other parent to move the kids out of state. Then Bill you made items and threaten to put you in jail.

Ralph never checked details in the homes and He didn't care. He had already made his mind up from day one. I'm pretty sure hes in it for the money only. If you hire him it will be a big mistake. my grandsons continue to ask me why he didn't listen to them and why he lied about what my grandsons wanted. They are in a two bedroom condo with 3 animals and 7 people. When my grandson asked his father why he couldn't live with his mother his father told him because it's a waste of money.
